Meet The Founder
Goran Ivanov is a musician, conductor, music educator, and entrepreneur whose career has been dedicated to performance, teaching, and advancing music education.
Originally from Bulgaria, Ivanov began studying music at an early age before immigrating to the United States. His career has since encompassed music performance, instrumental instruction, orchestral conducting, and music education leadership.
As the founder of The Private Lesson School, Ivanov has built and led a music education institution serving students and families throughout Southern California and Pennsylvania. His work has included conducting youth orchestras, directing large-scale student performances, and creating opportunities for young musicians to develop their artistry through individual instruction and collaborative performance.
Drawing upon his experience as both an educator and music school owner, Ivanov established Music Education Today to bring a fresh perspective to music education journalism; one grounded in firsthand experience, thoughtful storytelling, and a commitment to the people and institutions shaping the future of music.
